This notice describes how polarbearediting.com (“the site”) handles information when you browse, email, or use the cost calculator.
What we collect
- Inquiries you send. If you email or otherwise contact the desk, we receive whatever you include—typically name, email address, genre, word count, and manuscript notes.
- Technical logs. Hosting and delivery systems may record standard request data such as IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamps, used to operate and secure the site.
- Calculator inputs. Word count, service, stage, and similar fields run in your browser. Sharing an estimate URL puts those values in the page address; we do not require an account to use the tool.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not require an account to read the site.
- We do not use the cost calculator as a hidden lead form. Emailing an inquiry is a choice you make.
Cookies and similar technology
The site does not depend on advertising cookies. Essential cookies or similar storage may be used by the hosting platform to deliver pages securely. You can control cookies in your browser.
How we use information
To reply to inquiries, scope editorial work, operate the site, and keep it secure. Manuscripts you send are used only to evaluate or perform the work you asked about.
How long we keep it
Inquiry and project correspondence is kept as long as needed to respond, deliver work, and maintain ordinary records. Technical logs follow the hosting provider’s retention defaults unless we have a security reason to keep a specific record longer.
Sharing
We share information only with services that help run the site or email (for example hosting and inbox providers), when you ask us to, or when the law requires it. Those providers process information on our behalf.
Your choices
You can email us to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to request deletion of inquiry records we no longer need to keep. We may retain what the law or a legitimate record-keeping need requires.
Children
The site is aimed at adult authors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this notice. The date at the top of the page is the current version.
